GENTLE STRANGER LIFE WITHOUT NATURAL SNOW

London-based 'post-clown' trio Gentle Stranger return with new single 'Life Without Natural Snow', the second cut from their upcoming album Upon Return. 'Life Without Natural Snow' is a joyful/sinister jig with an almost nursery rhyme quality, as singer Tom Hardwick-Allen takes the listener on an audio tour of a bizarre town accompanied by a characteristically wide range of instrumentation; comical trombone bends, harmonicas, flute, slide guitar and jingle bells. Here the band describe the origins of the track: “This is the opening song, through which you arrive into the world of the album. It’s based on a vision Tom had of arriving in a town in which all the buildings resembled different animals, but there were no actual animals left.” The track is accompanied by a video that utilises google street map images and a cast of animated hybrid animals made by art collective Plastique Fantastique, “Life without natural snow means life without animals (we know this because Gentle Stranger told us). Many are adapting to digital life and now live as exquisite corpse memes to avoid extinction but they still dream of going home." The new album Upon Return will be released on 25th November 2022 on PRAH Records. -Toby Evans-Jesra
